4-4-23   THOUGHTS  

I am reminded that Jesus is THE WORD, and that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,  John 1:1 & 14.   The reading below reminds us that we must believe the words spoken by THE WORD!  We see that TRUTH is wrapped up in this awesome TRUTH PRESENTATION! Belief on our part is the necessary response.  Verse 31 impresses on us the need to CONTINUE in His Word!  It is the TRUTH THAT MAKES US FREE and JESUS IS THAT TRUTH!    John 14:6    Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

John 8:23-32     And He was saying to them, "You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. 24  "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." 25  So they were saying to Him, "Who are You?" Jesus said to them, "What have I been saying to you from the beginning? 26  "I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world." 27  They did not realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father. 28  So Jesus said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. 29  "And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him."  30  As He spoke these things, many came to believe in Him.  31  So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32  and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
Heb 8:10    "FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.”

My Prayer:

Father, help us to continue always in your word.  May we desire your word so intensely that You will indeed write it on our hearts.  May our hearts be directed to Your heart with a diligence that allows You to bless us.  We know, O God, that half-heartedness and mediocrity are not pleasing in your sight.  Keep us from these characteristics.  May we abide in You and You in us.  Give us a spark in our hearts to ignite Your power in our souls.  Work in us, O God, to produce fruit in the Kingdom, and allow us to be with You eternally.  Please make this our life, O Father of heaven.     In the name of Jesus we pray,
